Medium Voltage Switchgears
Vacuum Circuit Breaker
It is a type of electrical switching device designed to protect power systems by interrupting the flow of electric current in case of a fault (like an overload or short circuit). The key defining feature of a VCB is that it uses a high vacuum as the medium to extinguish the electric arc created when the circuit contacts open.
Leangear ZN1
Medium voltage (MV) compact arc-proof switchgear up to 12kV with low maintenance design and an internal arc withstand current rating of 26.3 kA for 1 second.
Unigear ZS1
UniGear ZS1, up to 24 kV, is a medium voltage air-insulated switchgear (AIS) with withdrawable circuit-breaker VD4 for primary distribution suitable for indoor installations.
Unigear ZS2
UniGear ZS2 is the ABB mainline switchgear for primary distribution up to 36 kV, 3150 A, 31.5 kA.
Unisafe Spares
UniSafe is an indoor air-insulated single busbar system switchgear for medium voltage primary distribution up to 24 kV, 4000A, and 50kA. UniSafe is used to distribute electric power in a variety of demanding applications such as utility and industry. Panels are available as a single busbar solution.
Safe Link
SafeLink is a type-tested SF6-insulated ring main unit (RMU) for secondary distribution networks that utilizes the latest in switchgear technology to provide a smart, safe and compact fuse-protected switchgear solution. The RMU can be used in distribution networks – indoor and outdoor installation; compact secondary substations, small industry and commercial applications. It is available in various configurations with many optional features, including discrete automation.
Safe Plus
ABB’s gas-insulated switchgear portfolio for secondary distribution includes the Safe Ring, ring main unit (RMU), and Safe Plus switchgear platform designed for all indoor and outdoor applications including high altitudes (higher than 1500 m above sea level) and harsh weather conditions. Both switchgear solutions are fully compliant with IEC standards.
Safe Ring/Safe Plus also offer an SF6 (sulfur hexafluoride) -free variant, called Safe Ring Air/Safe Plus Air, with dry air as the insulation medium and fully compliant with the IEC standards and the EU F-gas regulation (EU) 2024/573. The SF6-free versions are designed with the same interface, footprint, and operations as the original Safe Ring and Safe Plus switchgear.
